An update on the Australian Government Style Manual – recorded presentation

This presentation will provide an overview of the current state of the digital Australian Government Style Manual (Style Manual).

It will cover topics such as:

• recent changes

• possible improvements

• how the Style Manual team collaborates with others to get it right

• how the manual is applied in government departments

• how IPEd members can contribute to the manual.

Presenters

Susan Baird and Leanne Manthorpe

Leanne is the Supervising Editor of the Australian Government Style Manual, while Susan is the Style Manual Engagement Officer. She worked as a freelance editor before she jointed Ethos CRS in September 2019 as a writer on the Style Manual Project. In 2021 she moved to the Australian Public Service Commission, which now manages the Style Manual. Leanne is a professional member of IPEd. Susan has worked on the Style Manual since 2010. She describes her role as product support, comprising engagement, governance and procurement. 

Susan and Leanne will co-present the session. They work in the multidisciplinary Member Services and Style Manual team of the Professions and Pathways Group, APSC.
